Subject: How do we know saturday is the sabbath d |
Bible Note: Renovate Me: Webster's defines a week as "any of a series of 7-day cycles used in various calendars; especially : a 7-day cycle beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday" (http://www.m-w.com/). You write: "Picture a world back in time where one country had 7 days per week and across the border there were ten days per week." I tried, but I just can't picture a country where there were ten days per week. I'm not saying it isn't so; I'm merely saying that if it is, I didn't know it. To my knowledge a week has never been defined as anything except a 7-day cycle. What is the evidence for your idea? Can you quote a reliable source (giving author, title, publisher) to prove that at one time some countries recognized a 10-day week? Shalom, kalos |
