Bible Question: I have felt that God has impressing upon me over the last 20 years to honor the Sabbath. I see all the way back to God's initial creation and even in the Ten Commandments that we are to honor the Sabbath. What I want to know is WHY Christians are not honoring the Sabbath when it is written clearly we are to do so. EVEN IF we "thought" or "think" that the Sabbath is on Sunday the VAST MAJORITY of Christians are not refraining from buying or selling and are not refraining from "doing their own pleasure" on that day. I have gone personally in and out of personal "revelation" on this issue and have honestly honored the Sabbath for about half of the last 20 years in long sequences of years. Isn't this part of our obedience to the word to honor the Sabbath? SUNday is actually the day to "worship the sun". Whether or not we all join a church that honors the Sabbath it seems like we should as Christians be honoring it on Saturday. Any comments. |
Bible Answer: Colossians 2v13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. |
