NASB | Colossians 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Colossians 1:23 [and He will do this] if you continue in the faith, well-grounded and steadfast, and not shifting away from the [confident] hope [that is a result] of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which [gospel] I, Paul, was made a minister. |
Bible Question:
Has "The Great Commission" been fulfilled? "And The Messiah said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach The Gospel To Every Creature."(Mark 16:15) and then Paul testified that "The Great Commission" was fulfilled....... "be not moved away from the hope of The Gospel, which you have heard, and Which WAS Preached To Every Creature which is under heaven;"(Col 1:23) The Gospel(Good News) was "The Kingdom of GOD(Heaven) is at hand"....... Paul testified that the so-called "great commission" was fulfilled....... and The Kingdom of GOD(Heaven) HAS Come and IS"....... so what is it the catholic's and christian's are preaching today? sadly, if you tell people lies often enough, and over a long period of time, they then will believe the lies and reject the truth ;-( yet, while there is breath(spirit) there is hope! for Miracles do happen! hope is there would be those who experience The Miracle that is "receiving a love of The Truth". for they will "see" "THY Kingdom Has Come", indeed and Truth! peace, in spite of the dis-ease(no-peace) that is of this world for, "the WHOLE world is under the control of the evil one"....... francisco |
Bible Answer: Derowr, I beg your pardon, the Great Commission has not been fulfilled. I don't know what version of the Bible you are using nor do I know your 'frame of reference.' The NASB does not say nor indicate "was." The rendering is "the Gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven,..." The KJV renders it preached 'to' every creature. The Greek for to is the preposition 'ev' which means "in" that means "within definate space or limits." The Great Commission will not be fulfilled until the return of Christ to rule and reign. So, my friend, please clearify exactly what you mean and are trying to say. InGodITrust |
