AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 4:8 ¶ Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. |
Bible Question: i'm trying to do a report on this particular scripture and i'm havin trouble finding out what were the characteristics or historical antecedents that made this an issue for Paul to talk about. |
Bible Answer: Hi cheetah, This is God's book. Do a word study of the things of God. Not only these things, but all things. See also Phil 3:21. That is not to say that the things that we do are not important but this is His story. For the history of the things that they did perhaps Phil 4:18 and the marginal note will suffice. Phil 4:18, "But I have received *everything in full, and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, [the *things from you] a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God." |
