Bible Note: Greetings, Here is a web site that is helpful when it comes to cults like the JW. It exposes their way of thinking and suggests Bible verses that combat the heresy that is taught by them. http://www.letusreason.org/JWdir.htm I would just like to add; that no matter how much Scripture we proclaim or present to a person, it’s the work of the Holy Spirit that reveals truth to them and be sure and pray that they Lord will open their eyes to the truth. 2 Tim. 2:24-26 And the Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, [25] with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, [26] and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. When I first believed in Christ I had a king size burden for the lost and I would Bible whip people to the point that I muddied up the water and probably did more harm then good. My first pastor pointed something out to me that took a lot of the mental anguish from me, because I assumed that if I didn’t get the gospel message into the minds of people that their fate rested in my hands, as it were. Matthew 16:13-17 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He began asking His disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" [14] And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." [15] He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." [17] And Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. My pastor pointed this part out to me: flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven Faith comes by hearing but God has to make it real to their experience, we can’t do it. Paul had this to say to those that had believed by his giving out the Word. 1 Cor. 3:5-7 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. [6] I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. [7] So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. Have a great day, CDBJ |
