Bible Question:
We are living in Germany and have a German friend that accepted Christ as Savior this past year. He has been asking a lot of questions about different topics and we have been able to have some good discussions with him. One question that he has asked and we have not been able to fully satisfy him deals with eternal salvation. How can he be sure that he can not lose his salvation. We have given him many examples from Scripture to answer this but he is still not convinced. Can anyone give me verses that will help him settle this in his heart? Thanks for your help. |
Bible Answer: We can be morally certain that if we persevere to the end in faith, Mark 13:13, that we will be saved since God is faithful to keep His promises. But we can not have absolute certainty without denying God's gift of our free will and our freedom to reject His gift of justification and salvation. A gift that cannot be rejected or discarded is no gift at all. See Adam and Eve in Genesis and Romans 11:22, 1 Cor 10:12 |
