Bible Question:
We are living in Germany and have a German friend that accepted Christ as Savior this past year. He has been asking a lot of questions about different topics and we have been able to have some good discussions with him. One question that he has asked and we have not been able to fully satisfy him deals with eternal salvation. How can he be sure that he can not lose his salvation. We have given him many examples from Scripture to answer this but he is still not convinced. Can anyone give me verses that will help him settle this in his heart? Thanks for your help. |
Bible Answer: I pray that these scriptures will aid in your friend finding that blessed assurance. When I first acccepted Christ the enemy taunted me with that very thought (fear). I use to cry many a days regarding your friends concern. Until one day I sat quitely reading my word alone and I stumble across these passages of scriptures that are attached. I read them and read them and read them. And one day they came alive in me. Now I know that I am the redeemed of the Lord and based upon these scriptures... When the trumpet sounds whether I am sleep in the Lord or alive I will forever be with Him I will also pray with you all that the scriptures will come alive in his heart and mind..And the blessed assurance of the word of God will illuminate in his spirit.... Rom 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 1 Cor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. Phil 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. |
