AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 4:34 "Or has any [man-made] god ever tried to go and take for himself a nation from within another nation by trials, by signs and wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your [very] eyes? |
Bible Question: I recently read (likely in Jeremiah, Isaiah, or Ephesians) about God allowing people to stumble to strengthen them... or something to this effect. I cannot find this passage again for the life of me - can someone help me please?? Many, many thanks in advance!! |
Bible Answer: A few more references for you: Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. (Psalms 73:18) It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes. (Psalms 119:71) This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, "THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNER stone," and, "A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE"; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed. (1 Peter 2:7-8) |
