AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 4:34 "Or has any [man-made] god ever tried to go and take for himself a nation from within another nation by trials, by signs and wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your [very] eyes? |
Bible Question: I recently read (likely in Jeremiah, Isaiah, or Ephesians) about God allowing people to stumble to strengthen them... or something to this effect. I cannot find this passage again for the life of me - can someone help me please?? Many, many thanks in advance!! |
Bible Answer: I checked the word stumble and this is the result that I thought might be close. There was only one in Lev, nothing in Isaiah that looked good and nothing in Ephesians. Sorry Leviticus 26:37 (NASB) 37 'They will therefore stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand up before your enemies. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeremiah 6:21 (NASB) 21 Therefore, thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am laying stumbling blocks before this people. And they will stumble against them, Fathers and sons together; Neighbor and friend will perish." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hosea 14:9 (NASB) 9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble in them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James 3:2 (NASB) 2 For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. |
