AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 4:1 "Now, O Israel, listen and pay attention to the statutes and the judgments (God's legal decisions) which I am teaching you to do, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you. |
Bible Question: In the old testament, God actually appeared spoke with Adam, Moses, Abraham, Jacob, etc,. How come there isn't a place in the New Testament where God actually appears and speaks with Jesus, His Son? Before Jesus is crucified we see Him praying to the Lord at Gethsemane. Did Adam, Moses and Abraham pray as well? Or could they simply speak with God? It just seems odd that the Son of God prays to communicate with His Father, where Adam, Moses and Abraham saw Him face to face. |
Bible Answer: Chynna, No man has seen or heard the Father. John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. KJV John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. KJV 1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. KJV Who then did Adam, Moses, Abraham, Jacob, ect see and talk to? The answer is that Jesus Christ was the God of the Old Testament. 1 Cor 10:1-4 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. KJV God the Father speaks to us today through Jesus Christ, the inspired Word. Heb 1:1-2 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; KJV I hope I didn't create more questians then I answered.
