Subject: No promise land for Moses ? |
Bible Note: Hi Searcher, Many places in the New Testament couple Moses and the Law. Jesus often referred to the Law of Moses, and the Prophets. The Law and the Prophets. But that notwithstanding. . . We just can't help but notice: Moses led the Israelites to the promised land, but did not lead them in. Joshua led them in. Moses stands with (represents, is associated with, whatever...) the Law. Joshua, (same name as Jesus), means God is Salvation, speaks of the Messiah, and grace. The Law does not save. It only leads us to Jesus. Jesus saves, and brings us into the promise. The Law brings us to the point of entry to the promise, Jesus brings us in to the promise. Moses brought them to the point of entry to the promised land, Joshua brought them in to the promised land. We couldn't help but notice. Do you think that God did not intend this similitude? Is it an accident? Love in Christ, Mark |
