Bible Question: Can this verse mean what it sounds like. I have been raised in a church that looks on any form of alcohol as sin. I am having a hard time proving that in the word of God. Being a drunkard, yes, I find that condemned but a glass of wine or a drink? Can someone help? I want to move from what I have been taught traditionally and find the truth God intended. I have never been a big consumer of alcohol so this does not come from that. But when I teach my children right and wrong I want it to be what God teaches as such. |
Bible Answer: tepridemore, There are so many verses that talk about drinking. Pro.20:1, Isa.5:11,22,Rom.14:21. You can look up these and come up with your own conclusion. From a personal point, God delivered me from 17 years of alcoholism.Anytime people drink, for the most part, their mind is being altered. This gives ways to the powers of darkness. Jesus said to stay away from any appearance of evil. You have seen with your own eyes what drink can do, am I right? Teach your children to be holy and righteous. Let them stay as pure as possible. The bible does not say that drinking a glass of wine is bad.Why give satan a foothold when you have the choice to serve God with all your spirit, soul and body. This is just my point of view and I hope and pray that God leads you into all truths. BB |
