Bible Note: EdB: I applaud all you have written in your very wise assessment of the risks and non-biblical character of the modern custom of dating. I've rarely seen anyone on this forum put dating in its biblical perspective as you have. I would like to add a few thoughts of my own in support of your view of dating. I am not here discussing "a date" in isolation. Nor am I necessarily talking about what people do on "a date." I am talking more about dating RELATIONSHIPS than I am a date here and a date there. I seriously question the entire body of dating culture and customs as the world practices them, especially the world's questionable practice (from the biblical viewpoint) of having an excessive number of dating partners before marriage. Is this REALLY proper preparation for Christian marriage? I seriously question the suitability for Christians of the dating "game" as played by the world. I don't believe God called us to play shopping games with relationships. For thousands of years there was no dating culture. Dating is a VERY, VERY recent custom in the history of mankind.
