AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 5:3 ¶ But sexual immorality and all [moral] impurity [indecent, offensive behavior] or greed must not even be hinted at among you, as is proper among saints [for as believers our way of life, whether in public or in private, reflects the validity of our faith]. |
Bible Question:
Do you think the writers of the New Testament practice a variation of office politics? Was there Infighting? Powerplays? Gossip? Insinuations? Did they always practiced what they wrote about? I'm thinking of Paul and James in particular. Does it show a lack of faith to ask such a question? |
Bible Answer: Hello billk, No, I do not believe it is a lack of faith to show curiosity, but I do believe it is dangerous to speculate about questions such as this. For instance, you ask about powerplays, what would an answer to this imply? That they were selfish, or greedy? Or they were simply human and possessed many traits that are prevalent today? My feeling is that, when the Bible was divinely inspired to man (2Tim 3:16), that God gave us exactly what His infinite wisdom showed that we needed to know, no more, and no less. Peace, Tim |
