Bible Note: Dear Dan, You asked, "Don't you likewise believe where and how you worship is the true way to follow after Jesus?" Then you answered for me. (Thank you... when you get the right answer it saves me typing.) Of course, this question, and the true church theory are completely unrelated. You further present what is called false dilemma. The true church theory is also held by the Church of Rome and the Eastern Orthodox Church. I'll have to let you guys duke that one out. :-) Orthodox Protestantism holds to the universal invisible body of Christ as the church. In Reformed theology it is best stated, "The catholic or universal church, which (with respect to the internal work of the Spirit and truth of grace) may be called invisible, consists of the whole number of the elect, that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one, under Christ, the head thereof; and is the spouse, the body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (Hebrews 12:23; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:10, 22, 23; Ephesians 5:23, 27, 32)" (1689 LBCF, chapter 26, paragraph 1) Consequently, I am a member of the catholic church, not a member of a denomination. The building where I worship is simply a place where local believers congregate for corporate worship. Thank you for you comments, Dan. In Him, Doc PS Good passage, Brother Kalos! |
