AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 4:13 until we all reach oneness in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, [growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity]. |
Bible Question:
How does one know that one has attained maturity? Is there a measure in spiritual growth?Completeness, wholeness, lacking nothing and fullness of Christ how? what? and when? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Tefo! Welcome to the Forum. Type in spiritual maturity in the "search' field and you can follow some excellent posts on this subject. The first verse that comes to my mind is Phil 1:6, "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." How wonderful to know that it is GOD who does the work of bringing us to completion in Jesus Christ. I can not imagine trying to attain this on my own! I suspect that those who would CLAIM to be spiritually mature, are in need of some more training! (Does that assertion sound Christ-like to you? See Phil 2:1-12!) I believe that this verse is a description of the ultimate spiritual maturity for the believer: "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known." 1 Cor 13:12 Blessings, Mommapbs PS: What prompted your question? |
