Subject: cell leader role |
Bible Note: Hank, right off hand I can’t think of too many weaknesses of a mega “cell” church – unless it be that old standby mentality a few have -“someone else will do it”. Well, Praise the Lord – someone else DOES and will do it – when you have enough people willing to serve. Don’t forget - Mega churches are God’s idea. How many people were “members” of the “church” that Moses led through the wilderness? Millions? Beginning with 120 prayer warriors in Acts 2 – the Holy Spirit fell upon them and Peter preached a sermon. The same day’s “altar call” produced 3,000 from the multitude that heard the message. Acts 2:42-47 “They (at least 3,120) meet together in the temple courts (plural must mean more than one “court”, right?) And daily they met in homes (plural again). And the Lord added DAILY to their number those who were being saved”. This tells me that “they were obey the Lord’s command about teaching all that He had commanded – they were making disciples. Strengths of THIS church I work with – They have more to give. I have been part of many churches over the years. One church had six members besides the pastor and family and my family. They were “generous” but couldn’t begin to match the generosity of THIS cell-church. While a small church might support one missionary for a little amount, “we” support dozens, and I’m talking hundreds of dollars for each family and given every month. The small church might paid someone’s light bill; we often pay people’s rent. The small church might give a tank of gas; we often give people needing a vehicle to get to work, a car – be it a donated Cadillac, or Ford. The small church might help paint a struggling church’s walls, we paid off one’s 28,000 dollars mortgage. Isn’t that what the “first church” also did? In a few days, I can share what makes this “cell-church” so successful, and why we have to send people away because we don’t have any more room. Well, I have a few chores to attend to … so T’oma |
