Bible Answer: Hi ...bruce, I would have you consider who these gifts are given to: Certainly He gave gifts to men. He wanted to fill all things with these spiritual gifts. He gave some certainly to apostles, some to prophets, and some to evangelists, and some to pastors and teachers. Why? To equip the saints for the work, to build up the members, to attain the unity of the faith, to know the Son of God, being mature in Christ. By now we should all be teachers, being mature in the word, because of practice having trained our senses to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:14. We should have by now tasted the good word of God, tasted the heavenly gift, and become mature. 1 Peter 4:10, "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were the utterances of God;..." Ephesians 4:7, "But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Romans 12:3, "For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith."
