Bible Question:
What are Teaching Points for the subject of Spiritual Gifts? The climate is a small (8) Home Group Study/Discussion/Questions/Answers led by a Facilitator. |
Bible Answer: Hi Bruce, There seems to be a major focus on what each of the gifts are, and how they operate. What about coming at it from the direction of their purpose - the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the Church, the body of Christ, performed through each of the members? Each of us have a purpose to perform. My purpose is assigned to me by the Holy Spirit. The Church needs each person performing their purpose, ministry to the body - each other. The true (emphesize) ministry we give each other is to love - agape - the love that causes devotion to the object of that love. 1 cor 14:1 "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts" Seek to minister (build up), and look for the Holy Spirit to empower us through His gifts. Eph 4 Romans 12 1 Cor 12-14 I hope this helps. Love in Christ, Mark |
