AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:5 even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace--His undeserved favor and mercy--you have been saved from God's judgment). [Rom 6:1-10] |
Bible Question:
I've hear this statement frequently, "Were sinners saved by grace".Question- ing the validity of this statement,I'll refer to Matthew 9:13b;Jesus said,"for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance".If were sinners before repentance, then what are we after repentance?(Note in Paul's letters to churches who he wrote to.) |
Bible Answer: You ask: "If [we] were sinners before repentance, then what are we after repentance?" What does the Apostle Paul say about himself? NASB 1 Timothy 1:15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 1 Tim. 1:15 (KJV) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. In this verse, notice the use of the present tense, "of whom I AM chief." Paul did not say "of whom I WAS chief." And I don't think he wrote the book of 1 Timothy before his conversion. * * * * * * * * * * * * * www.seekfind.org Christian Search Engine The mission of SeekFind.org is to provide God-honoring, Biblically-based, and theologically-sound Christian search engine results in a highly accurate and well-organized format. |
