AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:15 by abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the hostility caused by the Law with its commandments contained in ordinances [which He satisfied]; so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thereby establishing peace. |
Subject: Is the Law abolished or not? |
Bible Note: Matt 5:17 and Eph 2:15 work in concert with one another. Jesus came to fulfill the law. If we are under Christ's headship, we still have an obligation through service to obey the law. The "enmity" Paul speaks of is "sin" which has been abolished by Christ's fulfillment of the law...being the utlimate guilt sacrifice. Scripture always verifies scripture. |
