AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Bible Question: I often hear about salvation and sanctification from preachers. What is/are their differences? What are their characteristics or manifestations? |
Bible Answer: Salvation occurs when we believe with our hearts, and confess with our mouths, that Jesus died to save us from our sins and was raised from the dead. The very moment that we confess our belief, that Jesus Christ is the only One who can save us from our sins, we are saved from the wrath of Almighty God and are made "right" (i.e., righteous) with Him. Sanctification is a process by which we are conformed, through the grace of God, into the image of our dear Savior. Through sanctification, sin loses its appeal to us and our desires transfer to those things that will draw us closer to our Savior. During sanctification, we find ourselves increasingly made able (by the power of God) to live a life of holiness before our God and before man. But, we must give up (i.e., mortify the deeds of the flesh) our sin nature so that the divine nature within us can be increasingly manifested for others to see. Putting off the "old man" (i.e., sin nature) is not always an easy thing to do; but, it is necessary so that the "new man" (i.e., the divine nature) may be revealed through us. Hope this helps!?! prazn |
