Bible Answer: Marriage is a major decision, the most important in life besides accepting Jesus as lord and savior. However, you must go to God in prayer to receive the correct answer, because God only ordains marriage and it will not work without him. Listen to God and him only,John 10:27 The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me. "And a stranger they will not follow" Also remember Mal 2:16 For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]. Mark 10:9 What therefore God has united (joined together), let not man separate or divide. Heb 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous. 1 Cor 7:9 But if they have not self-control (restraint of their passions), they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame [with passion and tortured continually with ungratified desire]. |
