NASB | Galatians 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual [that is, you who are responsive to the guidance of the Spirit] are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness [not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness], keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. |
Bible Question: What is involved in restoring a sinning Christian brother or sister? |
Bible Answer: FIRST you must pray till you have clear direction from Christ. If the sin affects the Church, then Matthew 18:15-19 is to be used. If that does not work, you may have to use 1Corinthians 5:1-13. If you know the one, personally, may I suggest that you have them read "outloud to you" 2Corinthians 5:18-21 and 1John 1:5-10. Tell them that you are working on a lesson and that you would appreciate their help on these verses. If they have an understanding, then you can confront them about "Their Sin" just as Nathan did to David, in 2Samuel 12:1-14. You might read this first! Thank you! |
