Bible Question:
What is Faith |
Bible Answer: Onecreated2glorify What is faith? Other than Heb. 11:1 being the best definition of faith that can be found in Scripture, below are descriptions of how a few others have defined faith. I really like this first definition "Faith is being sure and certain about unseen realities solely on the basis of what God says in His Word. No matter what may be the external conditions, circumstances, or appearances, the person of faith will trust in God's promises, rely upon God's Word, and obey God's commands without doubting or wavering, no matter what the cost or sacrifice." (From a source unknown to me) "Faith is trusting God in the present to do what He promises to do in the future." Ken Mahaynes "Faith is an action, based upon a belief that is supported by confidence." R.W. Schambach "Sight is not faith. Hearing is not faith. Neither is feeling faith. But believing when we can neither see, hear, nor feel, is faith." (We walk by faith, not by sight) 2 Cor. 5:7 My hope is that you will enjoy these thoughts on faith, and find them useful in your daily walk with our Lord Jesus Blessings New Creature |
