Bible Question: you answered my question regarding baptizem and included 2 verses,,thank you i have another question regarding the same question..the thief on the cross wasnt baptized yet christ accepted him into his kindom...my father accepted christ on his death bed and wasnt baptized.. will my father be with the lord? |
Bible Answer: I am not the person who answered your first question but I am going to answer this one for you. Baptism is not the first issue we have to deal with here. We have to deal with whether or not your fathers death bed acceptance was even honored by G-d in the first place. Here is an answer that you need to consider. If your Fathers Name was not Written in the Book of Life from the Foundations of the earth - his death bed acceptance is of no use. This goes for everyone. If we as believers do not adhere to the letters to the 7 Assemblies as per Revelations 2 and 3 - we as believers whose names are written in the book of life can have our names blotted out of the book of life. Then we have to look at things like Galations 5:19 and 5:22 to determine whether or not a person has a chance at having their death bed acceptance accepted. Why? Because is true repentance possible if we are not alive to prove it to G-d? Think on this one. I know I am giving you more questions then answers right now - but only you know your father better then anyone other then G-d himself. Now - where ever two or more are gathered in the Messiahs name - what ever they ask will be granted. Did two or more true believers Pray that G-d would give your father the chance to have salvation? If yes - then you have to hope that your prayers were answered before your father dies or that your father was sent to Paradise just like the Thief was. Being sent to Paradise did not mean that the Thief or your father would have eternal salvation - what it meant was that they would have the opportunity to hear the Messiah and then to decide if they wanted to accept him or not. You and I both have the same problem when it comes to unsaved parents so what I speak to also goes for me as well. Now - to Baptism - Acceptance and Baptism are part of the salvation package. True baptism must be done in a stream or a river where the water is Moving - not in a bath tub or with a sprinkling of water. Then there is the question of the Holy Spirit. How can the Holy Spirit enter a person on his death bed in the last few minutes or hours of his life? THink on it and let us know what you come up with. I am not telling you Yes or No on your question because only Father Knows for Sure - but we can have Hope and Faith and make sure that we walk uprightly the rest of our days which is the most important answer you are seeking. We can only answer for ourselves on judgement day. My parents and your parents can only answer for themselves on judgement day. You are not going to give up your salvation for your father or anyone. The entire subject you ask about is covered big time in scripture and would take a very long time to study. I recommend that if my answer does not satisfy you that you get down to some serious studying to find out the answer yourself. It can not hurt. You might actually teach me something on this subject were you to do so. |
