AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 5:17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. |
Bible Question:
I am believer on the security of salvation this verses is bugging me. In 1 Thessalonians 5:19, NASB says “Do not quench the Spirit;”. Does it means we can fade the Holy Spirit until we extinguish it completely? Thanks and Blessings, Lorenzo |
Bible Answer: Lorenzo, According to Hebrews, there is absolute security in our salvation if we don't neglect it. "For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? (Heb 2:1-2). Colin |
