AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:8 we are [as I was saying] of good courage and confident hope, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. |
Bible Question: If we are with the Lord at the time of death then why would we have a resurrection? I was reading in this "Solomon wrote, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in anything that is done under the sun... Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10" |
Bible Answer: Hello redfrozti, The resurrection is to reunite our bodies with our spirits. God designed these to be together but because of sin and the fall, men died and these separated upon death. Read 1 Corinthians 15. Steve |
