AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]. |
Bible Question:
I have always wondered about Crist praying at the garden of Gethsemani. I believe that his biggest concern was not dying at the cross but the taking on all of our sins. Up to that point God had not known sin. He knew he would ressurect in three days. What is you opinion? Tony F |
Bible Answer: Hello jafig8645 I think you said it well. I would just add the following to fill out the thought. Isaiah 53:4-6 (ESV) Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. How marvelous that He bore it all for me! Steve |
