Bible Answer: Greetings Lionstrong! I agree with Emmaus' assesment of this verse. Grammatically, the 'we' definitely refers to Paul and his companions for the following reasons: a) The verbs are all present tense. The 'we' were currently begging, currently refusing to give an cause for stumbling (6:3). b) The list of experiences in 6:4-5 are all specific events which took place in the course of Paul's ministry. So, grammatically, the 'we' must refer to Paul and his companions in ministry. However, there is no reason that what was true of Paul and his company could not also be true of future believers as well.
