AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 13:5 ¶ Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? |
Bible Question:
hi all, well today I come because I wish to seek the way of forgiveness. I still love my ex girlfriend and I can give her the gift of forgiveness, but I have some focused questiones that I need help with.. 1) If I forgive, great, but what does that mean towards the other person? "because the other person acted in infedelity" and I'm willing to look past that. 2) What is the process of forgiveness? 3) Does forgiving someone mean that they can still act in the same ways that hurt you before, or how does that work? Thanks all, God bless, it's just I really want things to work between my ex and I and I need some help from God first... |
Bible Answer: Dear NightJay, Brother lionheart has given you very good answers. May I add a little bit of my thought. I had watched a movie few months ago where the main character was so overwhelmed with his vengeance that he was on his way to kill his enemy. His girl friend asked him to stop, but he could not. So the lady decided to leave him on the scene even the man begged her to stay by saying "I love you". However, the lady replied, "What is left with you to love?" I don't mean that you are outraged with vengeance and I do believe you are ready to forgive, I just want to borrow the concept that "Be our heart filled with bitterness, what is it left with to love?" I think, in order to forgive others, we have to first forgive ourselves that leaving no bitterness in us. Just see how Jesus forgives us so willingly and dearly. I will pray for you, dear brother. I know it hurts (my experience did tell me). Shalom Azure |
