NASB | 2 Corinthians 10:12 ¶ For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 10:12 ¶ We do not have the audacity to put ourselves in the same class or compare ourselves with some who [supply testimonials to] commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they lack wisdom and behave like fools. |
Subject: How to Understand andApply this Passage? |
Bible Note: Paul tells us to be the best in what situation we are in. If employees or slaves, then honor the one we work for as if working for God. If the employer or Owner, then act as God or Christ would. That doesn't mean he condoned such, just how we should act in such a class within society. However, here he is referring to social classes in a church setting. His point here is there shouldn't be any. Quvmoh |
