NASB | 2 Corinthians 1:12 ¶ For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 1:12 ¶ This is our [reason for] proud confidence: our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [in general], and especially toward you, with pure motives and godly sincerity, not in human wisdom, but in the grace of God [that is, His gracious lovingkindness that leads people to Christ and spiritual maturity]. |
Bible Question (short): In simplicity and sincerity of God? |
Question (full): There are three godly things spoken of in 2 Corinthians. 1:12, "godly sincerity; 7:11, "godly sorrow"; and 11:2 "godly jealousy". I would like to hear what people think about these things. Would you be open to making the phrases "Godly"? This is a question of capitalization. From the heart, Ray |
