AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak I became [as the] weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means [in any and every way] save some [by leading them to faith in Jesus Christ]. |
Bible Question (short): Local Church ministry |
Question (full): I understand this verse is not properly applied to the situation I am going to address. However, the spirit of evangelizing does fit. For outreaching the youth in the neighbourhood of my church, a few leaders suggested our preacher to pay several field visits during lunch time to the shops or restaurants where students usually gather to find the possible means of contact. Now there is a brewing idea of opening a tuck shop for the ministry (though this is only at the idea-building stage). I, personally, have great reservation on the idea. Here are my concerns: 1/ Resource (both in terms of money and manpower) properly used as we have very tight resource and the rental price is high. 2/ Goal could be twisted from outreaching ministry to maintaining a balance account. 3/ Is it the purpose of local church and a biblical way to reach the lost? I need views grounded with scriptural support. Your help is very much appreciated. Shalom Azure |
