Bible Question: I have a christian friend who freaks every time she sees me wearing a t-shirt from Niagara Falls with a picture of an owl and an indian princess pouring seed or corn on the ground. She says owls are used by cults and witches so as a christian I should not be wearing it as I can bring a curse on myself. I don't believe that. The t-shirt picture looks like an artist painted it and I believe God made the owl not these cults and I also believe I am free of all curses because Christ took all curses upon him at the Cross. Am I right or wrong? Is there anything in scripture referencing not wearing images of animals that witches and cults use? |
Bible Answer: Hi, LinV! I think that your friend is misguided... she many be hypersensitive or her congregation may be teaching extremes... This could be an excellent point of discusion for you and your friend... you may be able to help her understand her error by working on the images on your shirt... The next time you meet with her bring up the subject yourself... ask her to clarify her objection and query her about the values on the image (if the owl were to be replaced by an eagle, a sparrow, a dove, raven, crow... would she still object to the depiction?... you could also go on line to search for related topics (animals and others as gods/amulets)... always return to the Bible as the major point of reference! God luck! God Bless! Angel |
