Bible Question: I have a christian friend who freaks every time she sees me wearing a t-shirt from Niagara Falls with a picture of an owl and an indian princess pouring seed or corn on the ground. She says owls are used by cults and witches so as a christian I should not be wearing it as I can bring a curse on myself. I don't believe that. The t-shirt picture looks like an artist painted it and I believe God made the owl not these cults and I also believe I am free of all curses because Christ took all curses upon him at the Cross. Am I right or wrong? Is there anything in scripture referencing not wearing images of animals that witches and cults use? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Rom 14, 1 Cor 8 ................ LinV, greetings and welcome to the SBF, I need to make some presumptions ... These passages deal with how to deal with a weaker Christian, so if your friend has a problem with what you wear, stop. There are pictures and other things that are cultic, which I believe we should not wear. Will it bring a curse? I rather not mess with anything of the cult, even if our Lord is stronger. The owl was an cult symbol, but has lost its signifance. There are other symbols, like a cat that are ubsed by cults. We would have to stop wearing a lot of things, or even having some pets. I hope I helped. Searcher |
