Bible Question (short): Was Paul single or married? |
Question (full): I've got a historical question that I'd like to throw out there. It is understood in scripture that Paul was not married. As he said in 1 Corin 7:7 he would that all men would be as he was. Being single is implied here. Now, Paul as we know was Saul of Tarsus who was a Pharisee. My understanding of the Pharisees is that in order to be a Pharisee, you must be married. So either I'm wrong in assuming that Paul was a Pharisee, wrong in assuming that you must be married to be a Pharisee or I'm misreading the scripture. Does anyone know where I could find an answer? |
