AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 7:1 Now as to the matters of which you wrote: It is good (beneficial, advantageous) for a man not to touch a woman [outside marriage]. |
Bible Question:
1Corinhians 7:1 It is good for man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband... Verse 7: I wish that all men were as I am. Paul thinks that men should not marry or become involved with women. He is essentially saying that men who get married are less worthy in God's eyes than men like him. They have a weakness that Paul didn't have. With these statements, I take it Paul probably thought sexual intercourse between those married was a weakness and not something God would condone. I'm confused. What is Paul saying here? |
Bible Answer: first of all the corinthians delegation asked paul some question concerning sexual immortality should a man touch a woman you are in a gentile area they practice pagans worship they would particate in the practices the husband and wife would go the temple priests and have all kinds of sex so paul addressed the issue by tell them what you see in the verses |
