Bible Question (short): Paul discourages marriage? |
Question (full): In NIV, Paul wrote 1 Corinthian 7:1-2 1Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.[a] 2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. Did he meant that we should not marry since "it is good not to marry" but we can compromise and marry because of our immoral self and is this the reason why catholic priests and brothers are not allowed to marry? |
