Bible Question: I heard someone preach that when a man and a woman engage in intercourse and their union is santioned by God, their souls unite and they become one. If a man and a woman commit adultry or fornacation their souls still unite. But, because God turns His back on them as a result of their sin, they each take on all of the sins of each other. If that's the case, they sin because of fornication and adultry and they receieve all of the sins of each other. |
Bible Answer: Gretsch: You write: "If a man and a woman commit adultry or fornacation their souls still unite." You make a very good point. I don't know about their souls, but the Scripture is clear: The two shall become one flesh. NASB 1 Corinthians 6:16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, "THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." AMPLIFIED 1 Corinthians 6:16 Or do you not know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh. [Gen. 2:24.] It also says in the preceding verse, 1 Corinthians 6:15, Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! (NASB) kalos |
