NASB | 1 Corinthians 5:5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 5:5 you are to hand over this man to Satan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. |
Bible Question: Does this imply that even those who are "delivered to Satan" can be saved? |
Bible Answer: Sandre, In 2 Peter 3:9 it says, the Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsufferig to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Verse 10 but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. I am brought back to Judas in Matt.27:3-6 where yes he did betray Jesus but repented of his act and suffered the death. See anyone can be saved, it takes a change of heart whether it be Judas or anyone. In Luke 22:3 it says that Satan had entered into Judas, but even though Judas repented and therefore he was saved. No matter what we have done and where we have been we all can have salvation through Jesus Christ. God is no respecter of persons. I hope this has been helpful. Serenetime |
