AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:2 for I made the decision to know nothing [that is, to forego philosophical or theological discussions regarding inconsequential things and opinions while] among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified [and the meaning of His redemptive, substitutionary death and His resurrection]. |
Bible Question: I require some information about the power of unity and any relevant scriptures. |
Bible Answer: Dear Ken, With no disrespect intended, I suggest that you are barking up the wrong tree. In Christianity power is not derived by any given attribute or activity of humans. Christianity is about the Person of Jesus Christ as illumined by the Holy Spirit for those of the Father's redeemed. Unity is a characteristic brought about by the Holy Spirit in building a local congregation (see Ephesians 3). We are called to maintain the unity already created by the Holy Spirit. Unity by itself does not cause things to happen, create spiritual power, or merit God's favor. In Him, Doc |
