AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed]. |
Subject: Will we know each other in Heaven? |
Bible Note: Quick correction: In the new heaven and earth we will be in our resurrected bodies. That is, these bodies that we have now will be raised. The bible does not support the idea of "new" bodies. That understanding is the basis for the respectful care rendered to the bodies of the dead in both Jewish and Christian traditions. "The bodies of men after death return to dust, and see corruption; but their souls, which neither die nor sleep, having an immortal subsistence, immediately return to God who gave them. The souls of the righteous being then made perfect in holiness, are received into paradise, where they are with Christ, and behold the face of God in light and glory, waiting for the full redemption of their bodies; and the souls of the wicked are cast into hell; where they remain in torment and utter darkness, reserved to the judgment of the great day; besides these two places, for souls separated from their bodies, the Scripture acknowledgeth none.
