Bible Note: EdB, thanks for your definitive answer, the mother of all answers, on Mr. and Mrs. Cain. Now I have something new to contribute on Nod. In a consultation this afternoon (behind closed doors of course, owing to the clandestine nature of the subject) with Professor Ima Nincompoop, a lovely 300-pound Eskimo lady, who wore dark spectacles and was thus given to murky speculation, revealed that she has made a thorough 10-minute study of Nod and discovered that the Cain family lived in the town of Winken Blinken, and this inspired the nursery rhyme about Winken Blinken and Nod. She was quick to point out, however, that the proper wording is not Winken Blinken AND Nod, but Winken Blinken IN Nod. But she is not in favor of changing the wording in the nursery rhyme for fear that it would upset the little kids and their parents would revolt. Now we have all pieces of the puzzle. The question is: What do we do with the puzzle when we put it all together? I Cain not think of any use for it, can you? Cheerio. Over and out. Write if you get work and please keep in mind that wet birds seldom fly at night. --Hank |
