AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:29 ¶ Otherwise, what will those do who are being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people even baptized for them? |
Bible Question: Actually Bible does not support any doings done by any one, on behalf of dead one.But we can see a statement of Paul about Baptism for died people(1 Cori 15:29).I dont think that here Paul supporting this matter. Under this situation can u please describe this verse? (1 Cori 15:29) |
Bible Answer: Hi, Mithun... In Jewish tradition, the body of a loved one is carefully cleaned, dressed, and prepared for burial by close family members. I'm of the opinion that Paul was thinking of this, as he wrote this particular passage. Since we look forward to glorification, we don't see the body as just an "empty shell." Hence, we treat it carefully and respectfully, knowing that it will one day rise again. In Him, Doc |
