Bible Question: Never saw anything on this verse is this when Christ delivers kingdom to God. Will there not be a Son then. By the way where does the Bible say God the Son? thanks |
Bible Answer: 1 Cor 15:24 implies that Jesus, the Son, will not be KING forever. At that point there will be no need to rule over anyone since all persons will be totally willing to do as God the Father wills. They will all be one as Jesus and the Father are one. The answer concerning whether the Bible says there is such thing as "God the Son" is as follows. There is no verse in which the phrase "God the Son" occurs, yet in Hebrew and Greek, the meaning of "son" implies that the person is full grown and able to receive the inheritance and take on adult responsibilities. Thus, being a "Son" of God implies being more than a child of God, but rather One Who, in God's likeness, can perform the same duties as the Father. Therefore, if the Father is God, so is the Son. |
