AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:20 ¶ But now [as things really are] Christ has in fact been raised from the dead, [and He became] the first fruits [that is, the first to be resurrected with an incorruptible, immortal body, foreshadowing the resurrection] of those who have fallen asleep [in death]. Bible Question: What theories are out there trying to disprove the resurrection. |
Bible Answer: Dr X Matt. 28: 12-15 tells us one of the first lies used to try and disprove the ressurection of Christ. The soldiers were paid great money to say that his disciples stole the body while they slept. What is wrong with this picture? First, Roman soldiers who were found sleeping on such a job would be put to death. Secondly, if the disciples stole away his body, they would know that the resurrection was a hoax. Why then would they be willing to give their lives for Christ if he was not a living saviour? I have heard of others who claimed that he did not die but simply went into a swoon and was revived later. To see how lidicrous this is all we need to do is read the events of the crucifixtion to realize that this man truly died. I think we should reverse the question and look at the proofs which show us that Christ is risen. This is the foundation stone of what we have in Christ. "If he is not risen than we are yet in our sins". 1Cor.15 Robert |
