Bible Question: How many times i would find forty days and forty nights in the Bible and what is the importace of this? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Gen 7:4,12; Ex 24:18, 34:28, Deu 9:9,11,25, 10:10; 1 Kin 19:8; Matt 4:2 ... In Genesis 7, we see Noah and his family were saved in the ark, while God caused rain for forty days and forty nights. I believe they ate and drank. God's GODs Working crew, There are five events that record forty days and forty nights. In Genesis 7, we see Noah and his family were saved in the ark, while God caused rain for forty days and forty nights. I believe they ate and drank. In Exodus 24:12-31:18 Moses visted with God, and was given intructions. Then in Exodus 34, Moses visted with God a second time, and the intructions were restated. He did fast both times. Moses's visits are seen elsewhere (Deu 9:7-11). In 1 King 19:8 Elijah travelled for forty days and forty nights. No indications he fasted. Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights (Matt 4:2). He and Moses were the only ones who fasted. Some say forty is the number for testing, but I don't see it for Noah (protection-waiting), Moses (learning) or Elijah (running). S |
