Subject: Can women be preachers? 1Cor.11:4,5 |
Bible Note: There is a difference, but I don't understand the difference to mean one is singular while the other is for a group. In 1Cor. 14:29 the word translated "judge" is "diakrino" meaning to separate thoroughly, i.e. to withdraw from, or oppose, fig. to discriminate (by impl. decide), or hesitate: -- contend, make (to) differ (-ence), discern, doubt, judge, be partial, stagger, waver. So... how do you understand the difference in words to imply that it only speaks of the men? Or the elders? Or who? In your opinion, what is being judged in verse 29? The prophet or the prophecy? Just curious. I still apparently do not understand where you're coming from, huh? :) God bless. |
