NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |
Bible Question: Do you have to speek in tounges to get saved, show me the verses that say you do, if you do. |
Bible Answer: There isnt a passage that refers to salvation by any other door than through Christ/cross/forgiveness/confession of accepting what Jesus did on the cross and applying this to your own life. Speaking in a language of angels is proof to you that you have an overflowing of the Spirit of God. This experience, which can be challenged by people and the enemy, requires some proof for YOU to know. However you can be filled without the speaking....just harder to STAY filled without being able to speak, according to some. |
